AbsurdTourney

AbsurdTourney is a Discord bot for tournament operations, built to bridge Discord communities with start.gg.

Tournament staff often have to manage several surfaces at once: start.gg for brackets and registration, Discord for announcements and player communication, and manual posts for event updates. AbsurdTourney reduces that friction by bringing start.gg tournament information into Discord through structured slash commands and clean public embeds.

AbsurdTourney currently includes:

The bot also includes safer channel handling. If a configured Discord channel is deleted or the bot loses permissions, AbsurdTourney reports the issue clearly instead of failing silently.

Designed around start.gg

AbsurdTourney does not try to replace start.gg. It is designed to keep start.gg as the bracket and tournament source of truth while making Discord a better player-facing command center.

Roadmap

Planned features include automatic watch/diff updates, new event announcements, entrant signup/drop notices, match-ready posts, OAuth identity linking, check-in support, and result reporting flows.

AbsurdTourney is ideal for esports servers, FGC communities, weekly tournament organizers, online bracket communities, and Discord servers that want cleaner tournament communication.
